Since 1888, St. Joseph's Mercy Health Center has served the healthcare needs of Hot Springs and the surrounding communities. Levi Hospital has offered specialized health care since 1914. Levi provides inpatient rehabilitation services and outpatient rehabilitation at the Prospect location. These programs aid p atients in recovery from strokes, surgery, accidents, and sports-related injuries while helping to ease symptoms of various diseases. Levi Hospice provides alternative care for the terminally ill and their families. Levi helps provide day respite care at The Caring Place at First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs. Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center Hospital is a 72 bed, non-profit hospital affiliated with the University of Arkansas Medical System. The center has specialized in rehabilitation since 1960. The hospital is licensed by the state and CARF accredited. Patients come from all o ver the state of Arkansas for treatment of injuries and illness involving the spinal cord, brain, stroke, and various orthopedic injuries. The hospital offers complete inpatient and outpatient services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, recreational therapy, psychological services, and acupuncture. Special spinal cord and brain injury programs are also offered. The hospital functions on a team basis, whereby the patient and his/her family interfaces with a team of professionals which includes the physician, nurse, therapist, and social worker.
